Mrs W. D. Webster has returned from a visit to her daughter, Mrs J. Morton (Napier). Mr W. D. Webster and Miss Winifred Webster hare returned homo from a delightful visit to Australia. Mrs Arnold Jones leaves on Tuesday next for Wellington, en route for England.

Mrs F. Webster, who has been for a long visit to her daughter, Mrs Farley (New South Wales) returned to New Plymouth to-day. On Monday afternoon a number of lady bridge-players visited Inglewood and played a match against the Inglewood ladies, who wore representd by Mrs Ilislop, Mrs Haworth, Mrs Harold Thomson, Miss Hamerton, Mrs O’Carrol, Mrs Wdcksteed, Mrs Walter Matthews, and Mrs Gault. The New Plymouth players were—Mrs Fitzherbert, Mrs Burgess, Mrs Matthews, Mrs Hodgshun, Mrs James Wilson, Mrs Bussell, Mrs Addenbrooke, Mrs Hugh Baily, Mrs Newton King,- and Mrs Blundell. Mrs Hislop was hostess, and entertained all at a very dainty afternoon tea. The match ended in- a win for the visitors; prizes for the highest scores on each side were presented to Mrs O’Carrol and Mrs Blundell. A retunr match in New Plymouth is to eventuate shortly. A pleasant little "surprise’’ bridge party was held at Mrs Dodgshun’s rooms on Tuesday evening, when Mrs Newton King and Mrs Addenbrooke were the prize-winners. On Wednesday evening Mrs Hickman Russell gave a bridge party. Mrs Bussell wore black charmeuse veiled with ninon, silver embroidery on corsage. The prizes were won by Mrs Hugh Baily and Mrs “Walter Bayly. Others present were Mrs Paul, Mrs Dodgshun, Mrs Ohaney, Miss Browne, Miss Wood, Miss K. Hamerton, Mrs Hirst, Miss Tidy, and Mrs Courtney. Mrs Hirst gave a bridge party on Tuesday evening as a farewell to Mrs -Arnold Jones.
