IMPORTANT CLEARING SALE.

Dalgety and , Company, Ltd., Blenheim, report as follows:—On Friday last we held (in conjunction with Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd.) a. most successful clearing sale at the Flaxbourno homestead, Hanwai, on account of Messrs Clifford Bros., who have sold the balance of the property. Fully 500 people were present from all parts of Marlborough, a special train from Blenheim to Hauwai being well patronised. The sale commenced shortly alter 11 o’clock, and was completed before 6 o'clock, about 400 lots being disposed of in that time. The luncheon was in the hands of Mr H. Rothwell, caterer, of Blenheim, and gave every satisfaction. The stock were in excellent condition, and reflect great credit on the management of the property. The whole of the stock, implements and plant was disposed of. and the following are the principal prices:— Sheep.—l3B7. two-tooth halfbred ewes 17s 6d to 17s, 920 four-tooth do. 17s 3d, 1137 six-tooth do. 16s lOd, 1323 eight-tooth do. 16s 9d. 1778 five-year-old do. 13s 7d to 12s lOd. 1185 halfbred ewe lambs 11s 3d to 10s 7d, 1163 halfbred wether lambs 7s 4d to 7s Id, 342 fat lambs 12s fid, 247 fat wethers and maiden ewes 14s Id. 963 Shrop-shire-cross Jambs 7s to 6s 3d, 408 cull lambs 4s 6d, 103 two-tooth wethers 8s 9d. 32 stragglers mixed 8s Id, 6 three-shear halfbred rams sgns, 16 four-shear halfbred rams 31 to 2gns,- 43 four-shear halfbred raips Ign. 46 aged rams 9s 9d to 7s.
