HORSES FOR JAVA
Three Dutch officials. Captain J. Schultz. Lieutenant Van Riemsdyk, and Dr J. Van Dalra, arc at present in Sydney for tho purpose of examining horses bought for the Dutch Government prior to their shipment to Java. About 400 head have been purchased, all for army purposes, and will go forward by the Enryalus in a week or two. Tho Dutch authorities have for the past twelve years bought practically all the horses required for tho army in Java and their other possessions in the East Indies from Australia, a total of nearly 4000 having gone from there during that period.
