CUNARDER AGROUND
HURRICANE ON THE MERSEY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrlehv. LONDON, December 7. A hurricane, which was particularly violent on the Mersey, was experienced yesterday. The Cunard liner Mauretania, 31,037 tons, parted from her anchors and drifted a distance of a mile, despite assistance ■ from several tugs. She has settled in tho mud, on p, sand bottom. THE VESSEL REFLOATED. (Received December 9. 0.50 a.m.) LONDON, December 8. Tho. Mauretania has been refloated. She is little damaged. . The Lusitania sails fo* Now York instead of her.
