QUITE WRONG

A SINGULAR STATEMENT

NEW ZEALAND FEELING TO WARD AUSTRALIA.

By Telesraph—Press Association—Copyright PERTH, December 7.

Recently an article by Air Simons, in charge of tho Young Australia League boys now touring America, appealed in the local press, stating that strong antipathy was shown by New Zealanders to Australians, and that evidences of this had been observed during the boys stay in Wellington. Sir AVilliam Russell, who is returning to New' Zealand by tho steamer Alooltan, interviewed, declared that the statements were all nonsense. The only feeling entertained towards Australians was one of cordiality and goodfollowship. New Zealanders had an intense love for their own country, but to say they despised Australians in the Dominion was ridiculous. The only real fact in Air Simons’ statement was that New Zealanders in speech and mannerisms were mot-o English than were the Australians.
