LITHGOW IRONWORKS
BLAST FURNACES MAY BE CLOSED. PROBABLE ACTION AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT. By Talegrapb—Press Association—Copyright SYDNEY, December 5. Messrs Hoskins have discharged 70 men engaged on extension works and in other branches of the Lithgow ironworks. It is rumoured that the blast furnaces will shortly be closed. It is expected that the firm will proceed against the Government for cancellation of contracts following the recent report of the Royal Commissioner. .
