LARGE SUPPLIES PRESERVED MEAT. HASTILY FILLING STORES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received,October 27, 8.15 p.m.) LONDON, October 27. Tho War Oflice is calling for urgent tenders, closing on November Bth, for 450,000 12oz tins of meat and 75,000 240 z tins, and also for tenders closing on January 17th for 750,000, 12oz tins and 125,000 240 z tins of meat. Some comments have heen caused by tho urgency of tho first contract. It is presumed that the War Office is hastily filling stores.
