FIREMEN IN PERIL
OVERCOME BY NOXIOUS FUMES, By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. LONDON, October 11. A fire occurred at the cold storage warehouse of Messrs Lovell and Christmas, tho well-known produce dealers, in West Smithfield. The pipes of a refrigerator burst, owing to tho heat, and the fumes therefrom overcame a dozen firemen, who were rescued with difficulty. Afi the firemen subsequently recovered. Small damage was done to the premises and plant.
