HOSPITAL SATURDAY

ALL ARRANGEMENTS MADE MASSED BANDS PLAY ON SUNDAY. Complete arrangements have been made for collecting funds to-morrow and on Sunday for tlie hospital. Over eighty Itdies and girls will be posted at various stands in the city and Newtown to-mor-row, and a record collection is expected. A meeting of the committee of ladles who have been actively interesting themselves in the scheme for raising funds met in the Mayor's room of the Town ilall last night to make final arrangements and to allot the various stands. The following firms have offered to provide light refreshments to tho band of workers on Saturday, and their offers have been gladly accepted:—Godbers (Cuba street, Courtenay place, and Lamb ton quay), Mrs Lee (The Tiffin, Manners street). Mrs W. Boot (102, Lambton quay), and Tho Burlington Cafe (Willis street). On Sunday tho collections will be limited to Newtown Park, where a special musical programme will bo given by the Garrison, Tramway, Jupp's, Central Mission, Wellington Pipe, and Wellington Drum and hfife bands. The Wellington hospital staff will take up a collection at tho park, and if the day is fine tnero should bo a very large attendance. A concert will be given by the JPetono 1 Municipal Band at a date yet to bo arranged. A picture show in aid of tbe funds was given at the Bijou Theatre on October Bth and will be repeated next Sunday. Collections for the hospital will be taken up in all the churches on Sunday. A detachment of the Wellington N avals have volunteered to assist in collecting funds on Saturday and Sunday. Their , services have been gratefully accepted by the committee. A fancy dress cricket match in aid of the fund will be played to-morrow afternoon at tho Basin Reserve between teams from the “Our Miss Gibbs” company and the hospital staff. A charge of Is 'admission will be made. Tho ladies of the company will also make collections. Miss Payne announced that the Nurses' Association had collected £3O yesterday.
