ARBITRATION ACT
PROPOSED AMENDMENTS. At the last meeting of the council of tho Wellington Chamber of Commerce suggested amendments to tho Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act were proposed, and Chambers of Commerce throughout the Dominion'were asked for their support. Tho following chambers have signified their concurrence and tendered their support Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Napier, Tiniaru, Stratford, Thames, Marlborough, Eketahuna, Hastings and Invercargill. The proposed amendments .are:—(DEor notice to be given by sufficient advertisement, or personally to. cm-i ployers ■or employees in any in- j dustry in connection with which j any application is made for registration ] of any* industrial association or union! of such application. (2) That an oppor- i tunity should be given for employers or employees in any such industry to oppose the registration ,of such proposed industrial association or union. (3) That there should be a right of appeal from the decision of the Registrar upon such matters to the Arbitration Court.
