THE DEAN OF ST. PAUL’S.

By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. LONDON, August 2. Tho Very Rev. Robert Gregory, Dean of St. Paul’s, is dead.

Dean Gregory was in hw ninety-third vear, having boon bom on February 9th, 1319, at Nottingham. He was educated at Oxford. His first appointment was sixtyci"ht roars ago. when he became curate ol BLslcy, a position he hold till 1847 1 when Bo became curate of Pan ton .and Vv ragny. In 1851 he was insulo curate of Lambeth, and in 1853 Incumbent of St._ Mary tho less r/ambeth. He held that incumbency till 1873. Ho was appointed a Canon of St. Paul’s in 1863 and Dean jn 1891. Ho took a keen interest in educational matters. and in 1895 published a History of Illomca-tary Education.
