YESTERDAY’S MATCHES. Rugby matches were played' on tho Athletic Park yesterday afternoon. Tho sodden ground did not allow of good exhibitions of football. TRAMWAY (G) v. ATHLETIC (6). A very willing match was that between Tramway and Athletic. The “trammies” were in tho superiority throughout the game, and they had rather hard luck in not scoring more points than they did. On several occasions some pretty passing was indulged in by their backs, and the forwards also did good work. Athletic did not put so much energy into the game as their opponents, and this in no small measure contributed to their not -winning tho game. For Tramway the following scored—Bramley (a try), A. Clarke (a penalty goal). Anderson and Gemmcl scored tries for, Athletic. Mr Hornig was referee. 1 ARTILLERY (6) v. ORIENTAL (3). Tho game between Artillery and Oriental on the N0..l ground was not a very thrilling affair. Tho action was mainly a vanguard one and the “ heavy fire’’ of the Artillerists compelled their opponents to retire more than once. When tho rear divisions of either team did get moving their efforts would bo nullified. Artillery were tho winners by >j podnibs to 3, and for Artillery ICebble and Taylor scored tries. Sandman kicked a penalty goal for the losers. Mr Sullivan refereed. ASSOCIATION LAST NIGHT’S METTING. Tho Wellington Football Association mot last evening, Mr H. N. Holmes presiding. 1 Mr H.
