HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. Thera was a very large audience at His Majesty’s Theatre last evening, and all the pictures shown ,wero popular with tho audience. The Coronation picture was tho favourite, and it ia a reaily excellent film.. The onlookers got a very clear view of their Majesties as they passed in the State coach. There wjU uo a- change of programme to-night, THEATRE ROYAL. Tho excellent vaudeville programme provided at the Theatre Royal by the Fuller proprietary is evidently appreciated, as the house was crowded again last night. There is plenty of variety, some very talented artists appearing. One of ; the star “turns” is the clever Chinese acrobatic act given by tho Alton trio. Tho programme concludes with a moving picture of King George's coronation procession* The programme will be repeated until fur ther notice. THE NEW THEATRE, There was a large audience at tho New Theatre last evening, when the King’s Coronation picture again was heartily applauded. There will oe a complete change to-morrow, but the Coronation picture will bo shown throughout this week, its on extra item. THE SCARLET TROUBADOURS. Tho Opera House was crowded last even* lug when a change of programme was presented by the Scarlet Troubadours. The items submitted were exceedingly popular, encores were the rule, and dounle recahn were evoked in some instances. The company excelled in choruses, whiph were given with pleasing effect. Among the contributions calling for special commendation were the Quartette “Whenever I. Gaze” and “Peter Piper,” by Messrs Mannoring, Grifiithe, Cunningham, and Waltham; Miss AVinifred Birch's ditties “The Honoy Pot” and “Mister Hippopotamus,” Miss Rita Fitzgerald’s “Three Green i>onnets,” “Justr Her AVay,” and “A Wee 'Bit ♦Shy”; Mr Ford Waltham's “Trooper Johnny Ludlow,” Mr Alfred Cunningham's “The Veteran,'' tho duet “Modem Courtship," by Miss Lily Fitzgerald and Mr Sydney Mamierlng; Mr Edgar Warwick’s monologue, and Mr Claude Lcplastricr’a oclcritous crayon sketching. The programme will bo repeated this evening. NICOLA, THE MAGICIAN. Nicola will make his first appearance in Wellington next Saturday. The show is said to bo a distinct novelty, altogether different from any other entertainment -seen here. From the earliest times, when tho great Egyptian sorcerers and tho Hindu fakirs mystified.and amused tho people of the early periods, magic was a favourite form of amusement. Nicola does not give a one-man entertainment.. He is assisted in ins illusions by eight or ten ladies and gentlemen, most of whom are clever vaudeville artists, and themselves do turns. Tho box plan is now open at the Dresden, ST. ANNE'S CADETS CONCERT. St. Thomas’s Hall, Newtown, was crowded last evening, when St. Anne's cadets gave their first annual concert. Two selections by the ncv/ly-formed file and drum hand* under tho leadership of Mx F. L. Dean, were much enjoyed, as also was a piccolo solo by Mr L. Minifle. Other items were;— Song, “I'll Sing Thee Songa of Araby," Mr Fletcher; recitation, “Wreck of tho Nancy Bell,” Mr Oswin; song. “Shannoban's Quid Shebeen." Master James Carlhy; song, "By the Fountain,” Miss M. Murray; eon, “The Carnival,” Miss Barton ; song. “Coming of the King,” Mr Alf. Smith; eon (selected), Mr J. Carr. Mr O, WcEilean brought down the house with two comic songs. The accompaniments were played Miss Minifle and Mr P. L. Dean. The audience included Yen. Archdeacon Dcvoy. Captain Martin. Captain AVhit+akor, and Lieutenants Clemcnson and Ruck.
