PEESS / BBOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH. August 1. A large deputation of Christchurch North electors waited on Mr L. M. Isitt with a request that he should outline his Views on political matters. Mr Isitt said ha had had many arguments with Mr Taylor on political matters, hut their views.on important matters’ in politics were similar. He op. posed further sale of Crown lands. Ho wanted it distinctly understood that ho would only go to the House as ono who was free from any compact with any Government or party. _ He would go there to listen to legislative proposals brought forward and vote upon them as his mind directed and his conscience dictated. Various committees were formed to further Mr Isitt’s election. Dr Thacker has not yet decided to contest the seat, but gives a definite reply to-morrow afternoon. If he stands it will be as an Independent Liberal. So far the Labour party has not made a selection, but it is understood it will do so on Friday night.
