Mr Maiden, a new arrival from England has been given the charge of the Methodist Church.
Mrs Butters, a well-known and respected resident of Shannon, died on Monday. The deceased lady was much respected and loved by all those who had come in contact with her.
The committee appointed to go into a water scheme in conjunction with Foxton will meet the Foxton delegatee at an early date and discuss th© preliminary arrangements.
Mr Monteitb, of Shannon, received a certificate ol merit and second prize from the Mana.wa.tu -Agricultural and Pastoral Association for his Leghorn cockerel.' Many judges ol poultry have pronounced - this bird to bo one ol the best m the Dominion.
