AA’ado, leader of the Opposition, saw the Lieutenant-Governor (Sir AA". P. Cullen) on Saturday, but nothing has been disclosed as to what took place. Mr G. S. Briner, who was stated to jiavo withdrawn Ins support from tho LaSour Government, now says ho will support Labour so long as it does not raako extreme proposals. AN ANGRY MINISTER. SYDNEY, July 31. At (tho commercial travellers’ dinner, Mr A, H. Griffith, Minister for AYorks in the McGowen Ministry, tacked tho Lieutenant-Governor, stating that tho electors said emphatically that tho Labour party was to govern, but Sir AViliiam Cullen says it must, ha somebody else. Mr Storey, leader of tho Indopendentsy predicts that there will be a dissolution very shortly. SORRY HE RESIGNED. SYDNEY, July 31. Air Dunn, who resigned his seat last week, regrets his resnjnation, since the Labour caucus lias decided to preserve existing rights of conversion to tho freehold, and has submitted his name to tho Mudgee League for re-election. Tho league, however, declined to consider it, and submitted the name of Mr Carl Johnson to dho central executive. MR AVADE CANNOT FORM MINISTRY. LIEUTENANT-GOAERNOR REFUSES A DISSOLUTION. (Received July 31, 9.50 p.m.) ' SYDNEY, July 31. Air AVade states that owing to his inability to persuade Sir AY. P. Cullen to grant a dissolution he returned the commission to form a Ministry. Later Mir AA r . A. Holman, ActingPremier, was sent for, but the result, of tho interview was not made public. AIR HOLMAN’S TEEMS AGREED TO. PARLIAMENT PROROGUED PENDING BY-ELECTIONS. Air Holman afterwards had a second interview with Sir AA r . P. Cullen, who asked him to withdraw tho resignations of . the Government, and he granted the condition asked for, that Parliament should be prorogued over the by-elections. Air Holman consented, and tho order for prorogation will be issued to-mor-row. In the meantime, tho Government continues in power. RECEIVED BACK TO THE FOLD. MR DUNN’S APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED. (Received August 1, 0.55 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 31. Tho central executive of the Political Labour League has decided to consider Air Dunn’s application for nomination as a candidate for tho Aludgeb seat.
