For the third y*car in succession Tartakover, tho Sydney swimmer, won tho Otter Club’s Alarsh. diallcngo Cup, 220 yards, on tho Thames; time, 174 seconds. * Tho cup now becomes his property. Thoo. B. Tarta-kover. formerly of Sydney, but now resident In England, is a prominent swimmer in most of tho eprint events in the Old Hand. He toured the Continent in 1903, putting up some good performances, and in tlic same year won the Southern Counties championship in 632 sec—a record. On July 2nd last he swam third in a ICO yards handicap at the Festival of Umpire sr«ort6. Innocent (London) being Urst and G. E. Findlay (West Australia) second, The time stated for the above 220 yards event—2min 54. sec—is by no means fast, and suggests the presence of jui unfavourable current. The Otter Club is one of the largest and most influential swimming clubs in England.
