HOCKEY
ALEETING OF WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Wellington Hockey Association was held last evening. Air AV. J- Organ presiding. A letter was received from, the T.AI.C.A., asking if a ground would he available at Hay's Bay on the date of the Auckland-Wellingion shield match. — The matter was left in the hands of the match committee. In view of a letter being received from Air F- AI. B. Fisher, ALIA, asking for the names of delegates to combine with the deputation which is shortly to wait on the City Council, asking for a new ground in the vicinity of Brooklyn, the chairman and secretary were deputed to apxioint the delegates. The AVelliugton Ladies’ Hockey Association wrote applying for permission to use the hockey grounds at Bay's Bay on the occasion of the annual tournament, which is to run from September Ist to September 9th inclusive. —It was decided to grant the use of the grounds, at a fee of six guineas pins any expenses the association may be put to in marking out the grounds. An invitation was received from the Wairarapa Hockey Association asking for a match with AA T ellington. , The letter also suggested a visit from a junior representative team to return the visit of the AVairarapa juniors to AAmllington last year. —The invitation was accepted, and the captains of the A\ 7 ellington, United, and Victoria College teams were appointed selectors of the junior team, but the matter of dates for the matches was left for the consideration of the chairman and socrcary. Dates for shield matches were fixed as follow August T2tli, against Auckland; August 2Glh, against Nelson; September 9tli, against Otago. EEPEREiES FOE TO-DAY.
