THE KOHN SHIELD. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week will bo decided at M elUngton a tourney for the Kobn Shield, the competitors for which are from the tramways employees in Auckland, Wellington, and Dunedin. FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION. MEETING OF COUNCIL. Tho Council of the New Zealand Football Association met in the I.M.C.A. laid; evening. Mr H. N. Holmes occupied tho chair, nnd other members present were Messrs A. F. Newbold (Auckland), W, Reynolds (Poverty' Bay), ,W. Mat Meson (Marlborough), H. L. God'ber fOfcago), H. Williams (Wellington), ii. Mclveown (Hawke’s Bay), O. J. Ward (Canterbury), and B. L. Salmon, secretary. Wanganui and Wellington both. forwarded challenges for the Brown Shield, An appeal from the decision of the Otago Football Association, in ordering that the result of the Waikari-Roslyn v. Ravensbourn© match be a draw, was received from both clubs concerned.—ihe council decided that the Otago Association’s decision must stand. The Gordon Football Club (Auckland) appealed to the council against the decision of the. Auckland Association in. ordering their Second Division match with North Shore to bo replayed. It appears that the referee ordered a free kick against the North Shore goalkeeper for lying on the bail. A goal was scored from the free kick, and North Shore appealed to the Auckland Association, which (aa stated) ordered tho game to «e replayed.—The council dismissed tho Gordon Club's appeal and confirmed the Auckland Association’s action. SCHOOLS 1 COMPETITION. A stare is to be made with the schools' competition to-morrow, and the following fixtures have been drawn Te. Aro v. Marist, Kelburne, 10 a.m., Mr ixirshherg; South Wellington v. Tho radon, Meiburne, 11 a.m., Mr Brown.
