HOUSING THE WORKERS
AUCKLAND'S URGENT NEED. j SPECIAL TO THE "TIMES." AUCKLAND, July 13. The Hon. George iowtds, Minuter of Education, when spoken to about the housing question in Auckland, upon his arrival from the Waikato this afternoon, expressed the opinion that town planning, of which the housing question is a part, is certainly a subject that demands the most earnest attention in Auckland. r T am satisfied," he said, "that the matter is more urgent in Auckland than in any of the other centres in the Dominion, very largely because this city is extending more rapidly than any of the other centres. I think that Mr Eeado is doing a great public service in putting the results of his investigations before tie public, which oertainiv requires to have placed before it in. realistic terms tburgency of the housing problem. I myself have a Bill to submit to Parliament oi this town-planning question during the coming session."
