FREE PASS DECLINED
The tramways committee last night {erred to the City Council tlio question of granting a free pass over the Wadestown tramway section to nn old lady who h-id walked to and from Wadestown for about Ihirty-eix years. The proposal was objected to by Councillor Hindmarsh, on principle. Where, he asked, would this sort of thing stop? Councillor Atkinson suggested that, on receipt of an actuary's report as to the possible lenjfth of life, councillors put their hands into their own pockets, and not pay it out of other people’s money. Tho clause was deleted.
