COWARDLY ASSAULT.
PRESS A/«OCL*.TION. WANGAKTJX. July 13. Particulars of a cowardly assault wcne ventilated in the Police Court this morning. when James Kennedy and John Gann were each sentenced to two months' imprisonment. It appears that a man named Vincent went into a local hotel, and displayed a £SO note in the presence of accused, who followed him to the back premises of another hotel, where they set upon him knocking him down and kicking him, causing severe injuries to the face. He was left senseless and subsequently picked np. He had, however,-deposited the note with the hwalkocpcr before going to the back premises.
