In the international sports contests Oxford and Cambridge Universities defeated Yale and Harvard by five events to four. SOME FINE PERFORMANCES. SEVERAL RECORDS MADE. (Received July 12, 11.15 p.m.) LONDON, July 12. In the inter-university contest America won the hurdles, Chisholm’s, the winner, tinle, 15 2-ssecs, is a record. Inter-nniversity records were established in the high and long jumps and the half-tnilc.\
The English won the hammer throwing, the hundred yards, quarter-mile, one mile and two miles races.
There was great enthusiasm, the English team winning on the final event. '
