VIOLENT SCENES
IN FEENCH CHAMBER. VOTE OF CONFIDENCE IN THE GOVERNMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received July 12, 0.20 p.m) PARIS, July 11. Violent scenes occurred in the Chamber of Deputies during tlio debate on a Socialist motion to reinstate tho railwayman who were dismissed by the companies in connection with tho recent strike. The Premier, M. Caillaux, promised to approach tho companies, but refused to coerce them. He added that though ho agreed with the Socialists’ democratic reforms, ho had never agreed with thorn in regard to their demagogy and disorder. Dnring the tumult M. Jaures (Socialist) hurled vituperative epithets at tho deputies of the Extreme Left, and the members of the Left shouted at each other, and with much difficulty wore prevented from coming to blows. The sitting was suspended. Later on a vote of confidence in the Government was carried by 433 to 86.
