LAST MONTH A RECORD IN BRITAIN. By IWegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received July 11, 11.25 p.m.) LONDON, July 11. Excluding warships, 496 vessels, of an aggregate gross register of 1,476,394 tons, were under construction in tho United Kingdom at the end of June. Tho tonnage is a record, ■finrl is 6200 tons above the previous record, made in September, 1910, when the tonnage of vessels (under construction was 1,470,194. The tonnage being bnilt for various foreign countries is as follows; Tons. Germany 255,906 Prance —— 126,186 United States 97,809 —. Holland ...... 78,425 Austria - 54,750 Japan 34,239 Italy 19.991 Fifty-nine British and five foreign irarshipa are being constructed in British yards.
