LIBERALS RETAIN WEST HAM NORTH.

The election for West Ham North, caused by the unseating of Mr C. P. G. Miasterman on petition, resulted as under:—

Baron Do Forest (Liberal) 6807 Ernest WEld (Unionist) 5776

Majority for De Forest 1031

At tiie general, election of December, 1910, Mr Masterman beat Mr Wild by 6657 to 5760, a majority of 897. Tho new member, Maurice Arnold Do Forest, is a hereditary baron of the Austrian Empire, and was authorised to use his title in the United Kingdom by Eoyal license dated 1859. Ho was formerly a lieutenant in tho Militia Artillery and an honorary lieutenant in tho Army. At tho general election in January, 1910, ho unsuccessfully contested Southport in tho Liberal interest.
