SHOCKING FATALITIES.
TRESS ASSOCIATION. , NAPIEE- July 10. Joseph Snowden, a seaman on the Taraworn, was killed instantaneously as the boat was being berthed at the breakwater this morning. Aa a ropo was running through the chock, tho latter broke, and a heavy p ece of Iron sped through the air and struck Snowden, who was some 15 feet away, a terrific blow on the right side of tho head, killing him instantly. it is believed, belonged to Dunedin. AUCKLAND, July 10. Mr A McKenzie, second engineer of the col ier Kotuku, who had hia leg torn off by the fouling of the anchor on Friday. last night. WHANGAKEI, July 10. Jim McKay, aged 46, a married man with *<mo child, got jammed between a log and a tree in Finlayson's bush at Magakahia on Saturday afternoon., and survived only an hour.
