We have received a cheque for £Z 2s from Mr Martin Kennedy in aid of the Hopple fund The amount of the rotiringcollection at the Courtenay Place Congregational Church <»n Sunday was £l3 13s cd. The following amounts have hoen received oy tho secretary of tho Lower Hutt con.mittee.
Donations of provisions and furniture for Mrs Hcpple’s new home have been received from Mrs Eiddiford, J. Jensen, Miss Stewart Forbes, Mrs Kavauagh, G. Trevcthick, Mrs Uridgor, Bridger, Cudby and Co. An entertainment is to bo given at the Oddfellows’ Hall, Potono this evening, in aid of tho fund. The programmo will consist of musical and other items by WeilingS'iti performers, and moving pictures by the MaAcotte Company, tho films being lent by Mr John Fuller A first-class programme has been arranged for to-morrow evening's concert at the Lower Hutt. Mr J. W. Read*, treasurer of the fund, invites all subscribers and eympathisesr to moot bim in tho Town Hall on Sunday evening next, wh-an in addition to a special concert Mr Eeade intends, as suggest'd by Afr Wilford recently, to form a bunanlao Hr-gude,'* to help “helpless women and children.**
