EMPLOYMENT OF DRIVERS.
Toe Hen. J. A Millar, Minister of Labour, has informed the Employers' Federation that he can see no reason why permits should not be granted for the cm-n’o’-rne-nt of grocers' drivers during extended hour-3 on the evening preceding a. Ivditlny. The* question was raised by the deputation which waited on the Minister recently, when his attention was drawn to the refusal cf tho Labour Department to issue permits allowing grocers’ carters to deliver goods after the usual hours on days preceding holidays.
