Allen, the Ivxlubition secretary, has received a communication from the proprietor ox tho Royal Marionettes (which are now' showing at Hawera), intimating that he would like to lease the ppaco in the annexe now' vacated by Professor Godfrey. Negotiations are still in progress. IN THE STADIUM BOWLING TOURNHY PBHLIM IN ARIES IN PAIRS COMPETITION. The pairs competition was started in the Stadium ou Saturday, and occupied all the afternoon, and evening. All games wore, played on a time limit of two hours. The afternoon, games were played in two rounds, occupying from two o’clock till six o’clock, similar procedure being followed in the evening, when the games ran from 6 o’clock till 10 o’clock. In tho absence of tho secretary of the Northern Bowling Association, Mr B. Keesing controlled the tournament. Entries for tho tennis tournament, which will commence on Saturday next, have now closed. They arc especially numerous in tho ladies' section. Tho drawings and handicaps will bo announced in a day or two. HOCKEY SEYEN- A-SIBE TOURNEY. On Thursday night the Stadium will bo the scene of the first seven-a-side hockey

tournament of the Exhibition. Iho event will be run by the Hockey Association. which has received an encouragingly large number of promises of entry. AU entries have to bo in by this evening. BOY SCOUTS’ DISPLAY IN' AID OF ITEPPLE XTND. Boy Scouts will take charge of tho Stadium on Friday night,.when an entertainiucnt will be given in aid of tho Hopple relict final. The lads will give a display of pioneering work, including hut and bridge building. The Mission Band, which has given its services free, will play in the Stadium during tho entertainment. Special HckeLs are to be issued in connection with tho event. They will bo sold at Is Gd, and will admit’ holders through the turnstiles at the main entrance to tho Exhibition ami ahio to the Stadium. The whole of the proceeds from tiie tickets is to be dovoted to tho fund. LIVING BRIDGE “Living bridge” will be tho attraction in the Stadium ou Saturday night, in conjunction with a gymnastic display by Mr .1, ML M. Harrison's pupils. Great preparations are being made by the participants in (the bridge pageant, ami it will bo produced on a most elaborate scale.
