Jack Johnson, the coloured heavyweight champion of tho world, in an interview with a “ Sportsman ” writer, denied that he had signed articles to bos Lang. Ho said that he did not want to go to Australia specially to fight Lang, whom he had previously defeated easily. A cable was received from London on Friday statins that Johnson ha.- signed articles to box BUI Lane at the BLviinm on Easter Monday. Mr Hugh Mclntosh had been endeavouring to get the champion to agree to a match* which was for a stake of £6OOO.
