Tho Crown withdrew tho original smuggling charges against tho captains of the Dutch schooners Portima and Harriet, which wore seized by the gunboat Gayundah, as tho honorary magistrate sitting on the bench of the court had no jurisdiction. Fresh in-, dictmcnts, comprising five charges,'including smuggling, were preferred, and the* hearing of evidence on these is proceeding.
