CONSULAR DINNER
ME P. A KEULL’S FIFTIETH ANNIVEEtAEY.
A consular dinner was held at the Grand Hotel last evening to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Mr P. A. Krull’a term as German Consul for New Zealand. Tho following representatives of various countries attended:—Hon. C. J. Johnston, M.L.C. (Consul for Netherlands), in the chair, Mr F. A, Krull (Germany), : Alt John Duncan (Portugal). Mr H- D. Bell (Denmark), Mr A. H. Miles (Brazil), Mr A. Turnbull (Sonin), Mr George Pearce (Sweden), Mr Shah (China), .Mr A. B. Kernot (Paraguay), M. Bustamente (Uruguay), Mr E. Focke (Germany), Mr Hnrcourt Turner (Consular Agent, U.S.A.), Dr Martin (Vice-Consul, Chili), Mr James Macintosh (Consular Agent for Franco), Mr T. Young (Japan), Air F, Dyer (ViceConsul, Greece). Mr H. D. Baker (Consular representative U.S.A.), Mr W. Fela (Gorman 1 Consul at/.Dunedin), and Sir Charles Joosten , (Gorman ’Consul at Christchurch). ’ . . After the toasts of King Edward and the German Emperor had been honoured, "the chairman proposed the health of the guest of the evening, in the course of which he referred, to Air Krull s long term of honourable service. Mr Krul! made a feeling response. The decorations were very tastefully designed, the German colours of red, white, and black being promientlv displayed in the form of ribbons stretched across the table. The dining hall looked very attractive, ornamented with tho flags of the nations represented by tho consuls present. ATr Seegnor, German Consul at Auckland. was unable to attend owing to illhealth. Apologies were received from Air E T. PoV-rtFon (Consular Agent .for Italy) and Dr Izard (Consul for Liberia).
