An organised attempt was made at Port Elizabeth to lynch a native guilty of criminal assault on a girl. The police at Bergville, Natal, frustrated an attempt, to lynch a native accused of attempting a criminal assault on two ladies. Mr Lewis, a leading citizen of Bulawayo, was killed by a native whom ho had accused of indecency towards his little girls.
