PBOM OUB OWN COBBESPONDENT. CARTERTON, May 20. Miss A. Symons, of Hastings, is on a visit to friends at Featherston. The Featherston Motor Garage Company have lately imported a 15-20 horsepower “Rover” car for hiring-out purposes. Mr and Mrs R. McDonald, of IVaihakeke, who have been on a short holiday trip to Sydney, have returned home after a pleasant trip. The balance-sheet of tho concert held in connection with tho Martinborough Caledonian Society showed a credit balance of 17s sd, Miss Bourne, of Wellington, had the misfortune to sustain a dual fracture of tho leg while skating at South Featherston a few days ago. The gasometer for tho municipal gasworks, at present in progress of com sti’uction at Greytown, has arrived in Wellington, and will probably reach Greytown some time during the coming tveek. A long-night dance, under the auspices of the Featherston Volunteer Fire Brigade, was held in the Town Hall, and although the weather was not altogether favourable, there was a good attendance. A tasty supper was provided by the brigade.
