THE MINE VISITED.
SPECIAL TO THE '* TIMES.” AUCKLAND, May 19. The "Star's” Waihi correspondent telegraphs: "I visited the Wainl mine this morning with a view to ascertaining the latest particulars in regard ■ to the new development at the 11.50 feet level. A flow
of water is coming from an open fissure in the face of the drive, and is being pumped at the rate of 1900 gallons per miiiuie. There is no sign of quartz as yet, but the management anticipates that the Empire reef is ahead.” On the Auckland Exchange to-day there was fair business in Waihis at noon call, sales being made at 66s 9d, 675, and 67s 3rj. At the 3 p.m, call buyers offered 67e, and sellers quoted 67s 6d, but no business resulted.
