THIRTY MILES OF FIRE
SWEEPS ACROSS THE EIVEEINA DISTRICT. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright , SYDNEY, December 23. , Destructive bush fires are raging in the Deniliguin district, in the Eiverina. An area thirty miles long by twelve miles wide has been devastated. , Many holdings have been swept, including large portions of the Nariga, Mathoura, and Warbreccan stations. -Many thousands of acres of grass, hundreds of acres of wheat, many sheep, a few houses, 'and miles of fencing have been destroyed. A gale carried a wall of firo across the country with tremendous rapidity, despite the efforts of hundreds of tiro fighters.
