PIGGOTT FOUND GUILTY OF FALSE PRETENCES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received December 1, 8.10 p.m.)SYDNEY, December 1. ■ J. W. Piggott, a member of the- Tramway Rifle Club, was found guilty of false pretences in obtaining <£loo and the championship badge in connection with tho shooting for the King’s Prize at the recent National Rifle Association meeting. Tho jury added a strong recommendation to mercy on tho ground of accused’s previous good character. Piggott was sentenced to twelve months’ hard labour, sentence to be deferred on his finding sureties of good behaviour for twelve months. * Tho sureties were immediately forthcoming-
