Daring the fortnight ended November 29tb, twenty-eight applications were received by the City Council for permission to erect, alter, or extend buildings, and in forty-ono . instances plans were examined and approved, and permits irsotl. The estimated value ot tho work is as follows: City, £19,273; Melrose, £3247; Northland, £1450: total. .£23,970.
