At Wanganui the same pigs also, took six firsts and three champions. , In connection with the All Nations’ Pair promoted by the Mayoress, and which was such a success, for .the erection of a consumptive annexe for women at the Palmerston hospital, it was found that, after the site had been selected, it was unsuitable. The Hospital Board, however, has now consented to add a wing to the present annexe, to cost about £6OO. The balance of the money in hand, about £9OO, will probably be used for the erection of a ward for children. The Mayor has arranged with Mr Hugo Gorlitz for a visit of the Sheffield Choir to Palmerston, the only town outside the four centres to be visited. Mr Gorlitz informed the Mayor that ho had made arrangements for special trains from Napier and New Plymouth, to arrive here at about 11,30 on the morning of the concert.* After the concert the choir will return to Wellington by special train, and three dining-cars will be attached to the train to facilitate commissariat matters. The Palmerston recitals will probably be held in the A. and P. A. Hall, and will commence at 1 p.m. sharp.
