DOMESTIC HELP DIFFICULTY.

Mr D. McLaren suggests that fehetfa are good reasons for believing that some employers of domestic-helps are constantly applying for fresh servants to take the place of those already in their employ, and that the labour exchanges are need by these persons to enable them to exploit the whole market of domestic service. In reply to this, the Minister of Labour states that such cases- must bo rare, if they exist at all. In almost ©very instance the domestic servant is in the position of having the choice of her employer. What has probably given rise to the question is the fact that, as frequently happens, an employer is unable to secure precisely the help required, ■and is thus compelled, at all events for a time, to engage some other lees suitable worker.
