ANOTHER MOVE. ' OPPOSITION SEEK 'OFFICIAL CANDIDATE!. THE LABOUR SELECTION. PEKiJS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, May 30. Furthpr interesting developments in connection' with the Auckland East byelection, took place to-day. At a meeting of Opposition supporters this afternoon, at which .Mr Massey and Mr Martin, the party's organiser, were present, it was /decided to approach Mr Joseph Clark, and ask him to etand for the seat as the official Opposition candidate.
Mr Clark, who was formerly, pastor of the Baptist Tabernacle, will make a definite announcement to-morrow. 'At a .meeting-of the Labour Party to-night, Mr G. McKnight, of. i Auckland, was selected as the Labour candidate.
