FIRE FRONT OF THIRTY MILES

Great forest fires, with a frontage of thirty miles, have swept across the Swan River Territory, in North-west Manitoba. Tistiiam Village, the Mackenzie Mann lumber camp, and several sawmills have been destroyed. Trains on the Canadian-Pacific line were unable to run through the burning area for eighteen hours. The damage so far is estimated at 1,000,000 dollars.
