FRIDAY. APRIL 22. (Before Mr V. G. Riddell. S.M.) CRIMINAL CHARGES. A quarrel between two chauffeurs as to rights of procedure on the motor stand resulted in John Fernando:; CATr Dix) being convicted of assaulting William H. Trengrove (Mr Miehell). Defendant was ordered.to pay Ids. and .solicitor's foo 21s. Complainant had asked that defendant be bourn! over to keen the peace. For committing a broach of a prohibition, order Patrick Ruddy was fined 40s, with 7s costs. Robert Johnston, chemist, was fined 20s, and ordered to nay costs 7s, for keeping his shop open after hours. Six persons convicted of failing to register dogs were each ordered to pav 7s costs. A seventh was fined 5s and costs 7s. John O’Brien was fined 20a, with costs IBs, for allowing a horse to wander., Convicted, on a similar charge, Frank PettcngeU was ordered to pay 7s costs. For breaches of the Truancy Act. David Howett, Ellon McLeod and Elizabeth Summers were each fined 2s, Charles Onrry and Arthur Whitting■tori wore ench fined ss, whilst WiUiain Bell and Edward Ede were each fined 10s and costs.
