ST. MARTS HOME, KARORI

A special feature of the animal meeting of St. Mary's Guild, which is to be hold at the Diocesan rooms, Mulgravo street, on Wednesday afternoon, April 27th, will be the address by the llcv. H. A. Kennedy, one of the forerunners of tho Anglican General Mission, who has had great experience in England in work of a similar nature to that which is being done at St. Mary’s Home, Karori. Mr Kennedy ih an able speaker, and is sure to have much that is interesting and helpful to say. The past year has seen a large extension of tho work of tho guild, which necessitated considerable extensions and improvements at the home, in order to provide a wholesome moral and physical atmosphere for tho girls and young women in need of sympathy, help, and encouragement—in short, in need of a home. These extensions involved considerable expenditure, which was a serious matter, as tho guild has practically nothing in the way of endowment to fall back upon. However, willing assistance was given by numerous friends, and though considerable financial liabilities still remain good progress has been made. Assistance has been generously given by individuals, schools, societies, and parishes, and the guild are especially grateful tor the thoughtfulness of several country districts in this matter. They feel sure that old friends will continue their help during the coming year, and confidently hope that as-, sistanco will also be forthcoming from many fresh sources. All sympathisers with the work are cordially invited to attend the meeting on Wednesday afternoon.
