Evans, and Sievwnght had a. verv <?asv gnino in the first of the Wellington 'Club's pairs championship on Thursday, Aiana and Crono were their opponents, but seemed rather off their game, being defeated by 30 points to 12. The Junior Pennants competition is still looking fairly open, as four teams have tied, thetso being Potone, Karori, ' Victoria, and Newtown.
