RUGBY. STAR CLUB. Tho eighth annual meeting of the Star Football Club was held on Monday evening. Tho balancesheet showed a substantial credit balance. PETONE CLUB. Tho annual meeting of the Petone Football Club was held on Monday night, Mr A. Coles, president, being in the chair. .. The attendance was large. Green aaid officers ex officio; delegates to union, Messrs Hardham, Lynskey and Frasex, In acknowledging the honour conferred upon him by his. being reelected captain, Mr Hardham referred to the difficulty experienced of late of keeping the higher frrade teams supplied with players. The professional movement had robbed them of their reserve force. But it must be done, even, if the junior teams had to suffer. It was a matter of special pride. to him that their best players of late seasons had practically all been born aud bred in, Petone. H© urged the neoessity of traininw. Let them keep fit, iplay fair, learn the rojea and stick to them. ( Tho balance-sheet showed a credit of X3B 3a 3d. The delegates were instructed, on the motion of Mr Lynskey, to protest against the practice of withdrawing a team from one grade and entering it in al lower grade. The meeting agreed to organise a match for tho first Saturday after Easter in aid of the ambulance' waggon, fund.. ASSOCIATION. RAMBLERs CLUB MEETSThe sixth annual meeting of the Ramblers Association Football Club was held on Monday evening, Mr H. Waters presiding'. WELLINGTON REFEREES' ASSOCIATION. The.annual mooting of tho Wellington Referees' Association was held last evening at the Y.M.C.A., Mr H. Card, president, occupying the chair. In moving tho adoption of the annual report (previously published), the chairman said that during last year 401 matches had been played, and no game had lapsed for want of a referee. Good work for the association had been done by the Petone branch. He hoped members would take up the matter of providing an ambulance corps during tho season, as it would be a very valuable adjunct, especially to the junior teams.
