DAMAGE IN THE NELSON DISTRICT FBESS ASSOCIATION. NELSON, March 15. There is a. heavy northerly gale and torrential ram at Takaka to-day. The vrharf is three inches under -water, Bind the tide is the highest on record. The ketch Venture broke from her moorings, and drifted od to a nmdbank, where ehe was safely anchored. The flooded rivers are .erpeclod to be in high tide to-nigrht. The Nelson flood hae subsided. Oansiderable damage lias been done, principally on the Port road, and at Stoke. There' is a wash-out three-quarters of a mile long on tho railway at Stoke. The Rowing Club's boat landing at Lukin'a wharf is flooded to a depth of eighteen inches. In Trafalgar 6treot North and Waimix street, water is still lying in, gardens, without outlet.
