■ •—. WELLINGTON CENTRE. " The Wellington Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, met last evening, Mr W. Coffey presiding-. The secretary of the Brooklyn. Harriers wrote appointing Mr Len Cook as' its delegate to the centre. Tilt Bawke's Bay Public Schools A.A:A. wrote appointing Mr John Caughley the association 8 delegate. The Wellington Civil Service Sports Club wrote stating that in regard to the proposal to make a levy of 3d or 6d on club members for the purpose of sending representatives l to the Olympic games, the olub was prepared to fall in with any scheme adopted by the centre. The Hawera Club also wrote supporting the proposal. •■ The Palmorston North Association , wrote expressing sympathy with the movement, but owing to the scarcity of amateurs in the district it had decided to take no action in the matter. ■ Messrs E. W. McVilly,, J. Robinson, Walsh, and Coffey were appointed a committee to wait on the Council of the N.Z.A.A.A. fn connection with BUggeited alteration of the Wellington boundaries. It was proposed to add the Nelson, Wast Coast and Marlborough districts to the Canterbury Centre, and that Wanganui or Now Plymouth should be askfid to form a centre to embrace all dubs from Marton northwards to Taranoki's boundary line. Many members, though willing that New Plymouth should form a centre, were adverse to the Wanganui district being detached from the Wellington Centre. The Auckland Centre wrote asuing the Wellington Centre to use its best endeavours to arrange for Kerr to, visit Auckland > to meet Wilson there, the judge to be an outsider mutually agreed upon. Wilson had agreed to meet Kerr in Auckland provided he received a fortnight's notice. The opinion was expressed *4>a± the matter was entirely one for Kerr himself, and it was decided to refer the matter to him.

The Council of the N.Z.A.A.A. notified, in connection with the centre's application that Woodger's recent 220yds record put up on the Basin Reserve be recognised, that as the watches had not been officially tested it could not grant the application. A discussion took place on the action of the, Wellington A.A. Club in inviting D. Wilson, of Auckland, to come to Wellington to meet Kerr in this city without sending the letter through the Wellington Centre. Mr Robinson moved —"That this centre, .controlling as it does the sport in Wellington, would like to assure the Auckland Centre that correspondence sent to the latter city, other than that sent through the secretary of this osntre, is ov no official value, and has not the apnroval of members of the Wellington Centre." The motion was passed, Mr Pollock dissenting. Messrs Coffey and Robinson were appointed to meet, the reserves committee' of the City Council to-day in regard to the allocation of grounds fr the winter. The combined bunks' athletic sports, usually held on March 17th, will not be held this year, but will probably be revived next year..
