CITY POLICE COURT
At Saturday’s silting of the S.AI. Court, Air AV. G. Riddell presiding, Robert Headland (Air Alerodith) was fined £3, in default fomteen days’ imprisonment. for using obscene language. Accused was under the influence of liquor at the time of the offence.
Three seamen accused of deserting from the s.s. Rirmitaka were ordered to be returned on board, and to pay costs of the action (7s in each case). .The captain gave the men a good character, and did not ask for a penalty. 4116 prolonging of their stay ashore was due to their having indulged in a. "spree.” ‘ Alicha-el Charles O’Brien was fined 40s, in default fourteen days in gaol, for drunkenness, and for wilfully damaging a constable’s uniform, and was ordered to pay 235, iii default seven days.
At a sitting of the Mount Cook Police Court fines, with the usual alternative, on persons convicted of drunkenness, were inflicted as follows: —D. Nceson 10s, P. Afollon 10s, J. McKinnon ss, A. Dow 10s, J. Moir 20s. Two first ■ offenders were convicted and. discharged.
